Status

By placing your order with us, you warrant that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts.

Contract

The contract will be formed after placing an order and payment has been received. An email will be received from us acknowledging that we have received your order and a further email will be sent once the order has been accepted and payment has been taken.

Delivery

All in stock items aim to be delivered within 5-10 working days, please be sure to leave a contact name and number with your order should we need to contact you further. All orders made on pre-order/made to order mean they are in production or currently on the way to our warehouses and will be delivered within the specified time of the order date. Each item has different delivery lead times so please check before you purchase. This, as you will appreciate, is sometimes out of our hands especially when we are waiting for oversees products to be manufactured and shipped to us. We will endeavor to do everything we can to communicate if this situation occurs.

For large items arriving by pallet, we only have open day slots – please let us know what days are suitable and we will do our very best to adhere to your busy life’s where possible.Third party couriers operate on an open day time frame for deliveries, unfortunately this is out of our control.

Failed delivery's will be recharged in full plus storage costs. Please do keep to the delivery date and make sure arrangements have been made to assit any delivery to avoid such charges.

Our own Delivery Team

The Shabby Store delivery team on occasion deliver ourselves.

Please note they will not be held responsible for any damage to goods and/or property as a result of deliveries beyond the threshold of your property. Once the item has been delivered our delivery team will ask you to check the items(s) purchased for any damage and request you sign a customer disclaimer document that’s states the item(s) are free from damage. Once this document has been signed returning the item(s) will be the customers responsibility and at their expense. Appropriate time will be given for you to inspect your item(s).The team will readily assist you and/or another member of your family/friends with an item into the property but please note that items delivered through an entrance or via a staircase and/or upstairs are carried out at the property owners risk. This decision is final. As a respected and honest company we hope you understand why we have had to state this. Prices

The price on our website will be as quoted and includes VAT at the time of order but excludes delivery costs which will be added to your order upon checkout.

Our Website contains a large number of Products and it is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some of the Products listed on our Website may be incorrectly priced. We will normally verify prices as part of our despatch procedures so that, where a Product's correct price is less than our stated price, we will charge the lower amount when dispatching the Product to you. If a Product's correct price is higher than the price stated on our Website, we will normally, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatching the Product, or reject your order and notify you of such rejection. In the event of human error where an obvious pricing mistake has occurred on our Shabby Store website, the company has the right not to honor the order at the incorrect price. Every attempt is made to ensure this situation does not occur but human error does happen from time to time

Payment for Products can be made by BACS transfer, credit or debit card acceptable to us or PayPal. 

Goods remain the property of Rose & Mila until payment is made in full. If a payment is subject to charge back from the card provider, the goods will become the property of Rose & Mila until payment is settled. Should a charge back occur whilst the goods have been delivered, we remain the right to collect items and pass on any costs for collection.

Any discount codes that are online may be used on all items except sale items as these items have already been highly discounted. 

Refunds and Returns

Cancellations and Refunds for Online Orders (Online Customers Only)

Changed your mind as soon as you have completed order & it has not been delivered. (change colour)

Although Shabby Store has a huge variety of fashionable furniture & accessories, on a rare occasion our customers may have had a change of heart for whatever reason after placing their order.  If this situation occurs, you are entitled to cancel your order at any time prior to the delivery of your item(s).  All you need to do is advise us in writing within 48 hours by emailing us on contact@shabbystore.co.uk or simply contact us on 01509323102. Once we have acknowledged receipt of your cancellation, you will receive a full refund within 7 days using the same method as your original payment. A cancellation notice will be posted to your email address. Please note for card refunds it can take up to 7 working days from the date that we process the repayment for your account provider to re-credit you with the amount due.

 

Item been Delivered & you do not want to keep it. (Online Customers Only)

If your order has been conducted through our website, you have 14 days from receipt of your item(s) in which to advise us in writing that you do not want to keep the goods. Notification can be sent via email contact@shabbystore.co.uk or call us on 01509323102.

After we have acknowledged your request, we ask that you do the following to assist with uplift of the goods:

a. Ensure that the item is returned in the condition in which it was received. We will not be able to refund the goods in full if there are any signs of misuse or damaged by the customer. Please retain the packaging for all items as goods must be returned in their original packaging.

b. Please make the items available for collection within 14 calendar days.

c. We will refund to you all the monies paid by you for the goods in question, excluding the cost of returning the goods.

d. Please note we cannot accept the return of the following items:

  • Mattresses and divan beds, or bedding unless un-opened and in their original packaging.
  • Any partially assembled items such as light fittings, unless the item is found to be faulty.

Once the goods are back at our local warehouse and have been inspected, we will confirm the refund amount due by e-mail and make the repayment within 30 calendar days.

Please note for card refunds it can take up to 7 working days from the date that we process the repayment for your account provider to re-credit you with the amount due.

A full refund shall be limited to the original purchase price paid for the unsatisfactory merchandise which will include your original shipping cost but not your return cost.

 

Bespoke Items or Special Orders

Shabby Store commission suppliers to make wonderful bespoke furniture that are not from our normal stock specifically for you.  Unless we receive your written notification to cancel within 24 hours of you receiving our first order acknowledgement e-mail, we regret to advise you that we will have to charge you a cancellation fee. The cancelation fee could be up to 15% of your order value. There is no 14 day cooling off period for an item that is being custom made or personalised once it has been received.

We regret we are unable to accept the return of these goods as they have been specially made at your request. We will be unable to refund any money taken for these orders once they have been received.

 

Returns and Exchanges (Online Customers Only)

If you have received your goods and you have changed your mind. Under the distance selling regulations, you have the right to cancel an order up to 14 days after the day of receiving your goods. The cost of returning the goods is at the expense of the customer. You are not entitled to the 14 day cooling off period if the item has been personalized or custom made for you. You are under obligation as a duty of care to ensure the item(s) are packaged in order to eliminate damage to the items during transit. You have a further 14 days to actually send the item(s) back. Once the goods are back at our local warehouse and have been inspected for damage, misuse and/or incorrect fittings such as light fittings, we will confirm the refund amount due by e-mail and make the repayment within 30 calendar days. Please note for card refunds it can take up to 7 days from the date that we process the repayment for your account provider to re-credit you with the amount due. Shabby Store can also arrange for a collection from you at a cost between £10-£16 depending on the size of the item. This amount is then deducted from your refund.

 

Shabby Store Platinum Delivery Teamm (No Longer Available)

If you have received your items via our very own Shabby Store platinum delivery team you will be pleased to know that our driver will help you unpack, inspect your item(s) with you and take away the packaging for you. Once the items have been inspected with you and they are free from damage our delivery driver will ask you to sign a disclaimer document to state the item is damage free. This disclaimer document states that Shabby Store will not be responsible for any damage created thereafter.

If on inspection with our Shabby Store platinum delivery team the item(s) is damaged, this will be returned at no cost to the customer and the office will contact you with regards a placement. The item(s) will be returned with the driver so they are of no inconvenience to you.

If during inspection of the item(s) you decide that you have changed your mind under the 14 day cooling off period, due to the distance selling rules, the driver will return with the item(s) back to the warehouse at a shipment cost. The shipment cost will depend on how far the driver has travelled from our main warehouse based in LE postcode. As you can appreciate this will be varied due to distance and an estimated return cost can be discussed with our delivery team. The return cost will be paid on the day of return delivery. Please note our Shabby Store Platinum costs for returning unwanted item(s) during this service are as followed -:

Return shipment costs. Once the item(s) has been delivered by our Shabby Store platinum delivery team and you do not want it there will be a charge for the item to be returned back to the warehouse. This will save you having to post the item back yourself. If you would like to keep the item for 14 days as part of the cooling off period, that is fine but you will have to pay for the return postal costs. If your delivery is within the 40 mile radius from LE postcode then the price is £10 for a one man & £15 for a two man team. If you live more than 40 miles from LE postcode then the £10 or £15 cost occurs plus 60p for every mile after 40 miles.

If on inspecting the item(s) with our Shabby Store platinum delivery team and they are not described as per product information on our website www.shabbystore.com please inform our driver. The driver will then contact the office to discuss the product information with our experienced office team and if an agreement is made the item(s) will be returned at a cost of Shabby Store.

 

Item(s) delivered by a 3rd party Company.

If you have received your item(s) via a third party courier and you have discovered it is damaged the first step you need to take is to email us at contact@shabbystore.co.uk with the clear photo evidence within 24 hours of receiving the goods. You can also contact us on 01509323102 once you have sent us your photo evidence.

Where we have made provision to collect the item(s), the customer has a duty of care to ensure no further damage occurs to the item(s). This duty of care expires after 21 days, but where you have agreed to return the goods, your duty of care continues until you do this and could be for as long as 6 months. You are in your rights to inform us of the fault and get a full refund within 30 days. After 30 days you will not be legally entitled to a full refund if the item develops a fault.

 

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you have a legal right to reject goods that are unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described and get a full refund – as long as you do this quickly and inform us via email within 14 days of receiving the item to contact@shabbystore.co.uk. This right is limited to 30 days from the date you buy your item. After 30 days you will not be legally entitled to a full refund if the item develops a fault. Shabby Store can refuse where we can demonstrate that your choice is disproportionately expensive compared to the cost of returning the item

Deductions from refunds – no deductions can be made from a refund from the first six months after purchase.

 

Naturally Shabby Store endeavors to deliver all our furniture and accessories in perfect condition. As a reputable company we have spent many hours talking to our suppliers about packing and shipping our products so they arrive safely. We are constantly looking for ways to improve these standards. Our stores also pride themselves on having the best delivery teams in the business and they quality check all items before they are dispatched from the warehouse.

It is disappointing for you and us when occasionally things go wrong. When your order has been unwrapped in your home and there are signs of transit damage, this is what to expect:

  • All damaged items need to be reported as soon as possible, especially when a 3rd party courier has been utilised for delivery. Please inform us, where possible, on the same day of delivery so we can inform the courier of the damage that has been caused during transit. This is so we can resolve the situation for you at your earliest convenience in the hope that we can send the third party courier back to collect on the same day.  Please send photos of the damage to contact@shabbystore.co.uk and call us on 01509323102.
  • Damaged items: Any item(s) that arrives damaged will be replaced at our own cost. We will arrange collection and delivery of a new item within 14 days after receiving your email notification that includes clear photo evidence sent to contact@shabbystore.co.uk. All damaged items need to be reported within 30 days for you to receive a full refund.
  • A full refund shall be limited to the original purchase price paid for the unsatisfactory merchandise.
  • If the item is useable and you are happy to keep it, please inform us by sending an email to contact@shabbystore.co.uk and we will assess the damage so we can decide what steps to take next. Please can you take clear photos and type in your subject Damaged Goods when emailing us.

 

Out of Stock Items

Shabby Store has a huge selection of furniture and accessories. Once we have received your order one of our team in the office will check that the item(s) is in stock. As you can imagine due to the variety of products we sell on our website, our stock fluctuates on a daily and sometimes hourly basis. We do try our very best to keep our website up to date so that we do not inconvenience or disappoint our customers. If our office team discover your item(s) is out of stock, they will contact you within 48 hours after receiving your order by either by telephone or email. Please note this timeframe may increase slightly if your ordering Friday PM and don’t forget to check your junk emails. Before the office team makes contact with you they will do their upmost to endeavor to locate the item you originally ordered from other supplier so we do not have to bother or inconvenience you in the first instance.

 If you do purchase an item(s) that is not in stock a 10% part payment will be taken which will automatically guarantee your order will be fulfilled and dispatched once it is back in stock. The Shabby Store office team will keep you updated on your order on a weekly basis via email.

Should you order a mixture of stocked and not stocked items, these will be shipped at the same time unless advised otherwise by yourself.

 

Discontinued Products

As with the Out of Stock process your item(s) are also checked to see if they have been discontinued with our supplier if they are not stored in our large warehouse facilities.  On a very rare occasion the Shabby Store office team may discover the item may have been discontinued. If this situation does occur, we will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your order. Please note this timeframe may increase slightly if your ordering Friday PM and don’t forget to check your junk emails. Our knowledgable and experienced team will contact you via telephone or email and where possible offer you a suitable alternative. Before the office team makes contact with you they will do their upmost to endeavor to locate the item you originally ordered from other suppliers so we do not have to bother or inconvenience you in the first instance. A full refund will be given if we cannot fulfill your discontinued order and an alternative cannot be sourced.

Buying seconds or damaged items

If you are buying seconds, you are entitled to a product which is undamaged and fully useable. If you knowingly buy a damaged product, the specific defect will be pointed out to you before you buy, you cannot then return the item on the basis of that defect. 

 

Deliveries

Pricing Matrix for our Shabby Store Delivery (No longer Available)

There is a flat charge within a 40 mile radius of our main warehouse based in LE14 3HQ. This flat charge is £24 for a one person & £48 for a two person team. Anything over the 40 miles there is a 60p per mile charge.

What constitutes a two person team is the size and weight of a product.

As a customer you have a choice – If the item(s) is an awkward size for one person or the weight is over 45kg then a 2 person team is required which will be an extra cost to you. If you are prepared to help or get help your side then only one person is required for delivery.

Please note – If Shabby store are delivering the driver will unbox and take the packaging away for you. We are not insured to be inside the customer’s property and taking an item upstairs is at the discretion of the driver. The driver and customer will look over the item(s) to identify any damage. If at this point damage is identified the driver will return the item(s) back to the warehouse at no cost to the customer. If no damage is identified the customer will sign a disclaimer form to say there is no damage at point of delivery.

If the item is not as described, unfit for purpose and unsatisfactory quality during delivery the driver will return the item at no cost to you.

If you decide you do not like the item and there is no damage the driver will return the item for you but there will be a *shipment cost. This sits under the 14 day cooling off period. If within 14 days of having the item in your home and you have decided you do not want it keep it, the item can be sent back to us for a full refund but you will need to pay for the return cost. This needs to be communicated to us within the 14 days after receiving the item(s)

Example … Postcode LE14 to WA3 = 98.8 miles, rounded up to 100 miles.

ONE PERSON DELIVERY - £24 flat rate plus 60 miles x 60p per mile = £36 ….  Total = £60

FOR A TWO PERSON DELIVERY - £60 plus £24 for the extra

(For a two man team add £24 to the total)

 

Return shipment costs. Once the item(s) has been delivered by our Shabby Store platinum delivery team and you do not want it there will be a charge for the item to be returned back to the warehouse. This will save you having to post the item back yourself. If you would like to keep the item for 14 days as part of the cooling off period, that is fine but you will have to pay for the return postal costs. For our customers that live on the Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm)

As you are not part of the UK or the European Union you will be exempt from paying VAT on goods purchased please contact our team by calling 01509323109. Please note the delivery address must be within a postcode in one of the Channel Islands to warrant for the VAT reduction.

Warranty (Online Customers Only)

We offer a 1 year warranty on all products against manufacturing defects where used in accordance with the instructions. This is subject to the following exclusions:

  • Moving parts (mechanisms, castors, drawers)
  • Seating upholstery which are subject to usage related wear and tear
  • Where incorrect assembly occurs or use of non–recommended parts, or third party accessories not compatible with original design are used
  • Where the product has been tampered with by a third party or interventions by non–authorised personnel.

Where your product is covered by our warranty against manufacturing defect, we will at our discretion provide a spare part, repair, replacement or refund. Please contact us with a full description and photographs of the fault, using our damaged items form. We may arrange an engineer to inspect the item and either rectify the fault on site or advise on action required. 

Where your product is no longer under warranty we will endeavour to repair or replace parts subject to availability. There may be charges outside of the warranty period these will be advised before proceeding.

Cancellations, Refunds and Returns

Trade Orders (Trade Only)(Includes Interior Designers, Rastaurants, Bars, Hotels, Shops)

  • All orders are subject to availability and Shabby Store reserves the right to refuse orders from customers.
  • 48 hours Notification of cancellation of orders must be made in writing prior to dispatch.
  • Orders will be held for a maximum of three months before being deleted.
  • At Shabby Store's discretion goods may be accepted for return and credit. Shabby Store reserves the right to charge £60 for collection from the customer’s premises and a 20% re-stocking fee for mainland UK sales.
  • Items being returned must be in the original packaging. Any items received back to us with damage or faults will not be refunded.
  • Shabby Store reserves the right to wait for 7 days for funds to clear before releasing goods.
  • Damages or discrepancies must be reported in writing to us within 10 working days of receipt.
  • Credits or replacements can only be made once photographic evidence or the goods have been returned for inspection.
  • Shabby Store will process all claims within 14 working days of collection.
  • Credits or replacements can only be made once photographic evidence or the goods have been returned for inspection.
  • It is the Trade customer’s responsibility to check the delivery for damages & shortages and to mark the carrier POD accordingly.
  • Claims made after the 10 day of delivery date will not be considered.
